At Didgy Media, we love working on projects that make a real difference to local communities — and the recent launch of Congleton Vibe is exactly that.
Designed to connect residents, venues, and event organisers in one simple mobile experience, Congleton Vibe is a brand-new iOS app created to help people discover what’s happening in Congleton — from live music and open mic nights to exclusive drink offers and last-minute events.
This project was all about solving a very real local problem: people often don’t know what’s happening in town until it’s already started. Congleton Vibe changes that.
The Idea: One Place for Everything Happening in Town
Congleton has a thriving social scene, but information about events and venues is often scattered across social media, posters, and word of mouth. The goal of the app was to bring everything together into a single, easy-to-use platform.
Users can now:
Discover live events happening right now
Browse venues by category or vibe
Receive notifications when events start nearby
Unlock exclusive discounts at participating venues
Rate and save favourite locations
The platform also includes tools for venue owners, allowing them to list events, promote offers, and reach more customers directly through the app.
The platform is designed to bring a town’s nightlife together “in one easy app,” helping users find events, explore venues, and redeem exclusive deals directly from their phones.
Our Role in the Build
Didgy Media led the design and development of the mobile application from concept through to launch. The focus was on delivering a product that felt fast, modern, and simple — while still being powerful enough to support both users and venue operators.
Key areas we worked on included:
UX and UI Design
We created a clean, mobile-first interface that makes it easy to find events quickly. The design prioritises clarity, speed, and minimal friction — especially important for users making spontaneous plans.
Mobile App Development
The app was built to run smoothly on modern iOS devices, ensuring reliable performance and quick loading times. Compatibility begins with iOS 15.1 and later devices, allowing broad support across current Apple hardware. And soon for Android devices through the Google Play Store
Venue Dashboard Integration
Behind the scenes, we developed a simple management system that allows venues to:
Add events
Upload images
Promote special offers
Manage their listings
This ensures the platform stays up to date without requiring technical knowledge.
Security and User Experience
We implemented secure login and onboarding processes, including modern authentication features such as two-factor verification for venue accounts, helping protect user data and system access.
Challenges We Solved
Every app project comes with unique technical and usability challenges. For Congleton Vibe, the biggest ones were:
Keeping the Experience Simple
The app needed to be powerful enough for venues but intuitive enough for everyday users.
We achieved this by:
Reducing the number of steps to find events
Using clear navigation and visual categories
Prioritising speed and responsiveness
Real-Time Event Visibility
Users want to know what’s happening right now — not tomorrow.
We designed the system to make real-time updates straightforward for venues while keeping the user interface fast and responsive.
Supporting Local Businesses
A core objective of the project was to help local venues attract more customers. The app includes built-in promotional tools and check-in offers that allow businesses to reward visitors instantly.
The Result
The finished product is a modern, scalable mobile application that supports both the social life of the town and the growth of local businesses.
Key outcomes include:
A fully launched iOS app available to the public
A centralised hub for events and nightlife
A scalable platform ready for future features
A simple system for venue promotion
A better way for residents to discover what’s happening locally
Most importantly, the app creates a direct connection between venues and customers — something that traditional advertising methods struggle to achieve.
What This Project Shows
The Congleton Vibe project highlights how mobile apps can transform local engagement when designed with real users in mind.
It demonstrates that digital platforms are not just for large cities or national brands — they can deliver meaningful value to smaller communities too.
